When printing 2-sided manually, I rest my hand on the power button which of course shuts it off. It is attractive to small children, who love it.

It is a boring manual task, and the reason is that it isnt even an option in the printer drivers. It takes a lot longer, but I tend to do this when I have the time. It might have an auto-shut off feature, I haven't been able to tell if it's that, or the matter discussed below, where I accidentally turn it off while printing 2-sided pages manually.Ĭons: You can't easily do 2-sided printouts. It's a terrific backup and quick-print job for students. I'd buy again, in a pinch if I needed just the printer. It comes with an XL, or the larger ink capacity cartridge! Wow, what a deal!!! Some of these cartridges cost as much as this printer (and its free included cartridges alone)! It's light and small, and probably wont break as easily as a 3-in-1 with that glass inside.
Just make sure to order that cable! (I did, and it cost like $4.50 on amazon.) Ink is a 61/2 catridge which is pretty common amongst cartridges, so if you had a printer before you may have some compatible cartridges.

However, the 1000 series is perfect: turn it on, and it doesnt do anything you dont tell it to. So I tend to leave it on, until I figured out you could rapidly hit 'cancel' in order for that one not to print the extra page.
my other one just prints a test page every single time you turn it on or off. It has energy saving and ink-saving options.
(I am used to an all-in-one photocopy/scan/printer from HP C3100). Pros: QUICK! It prints very quickly when it is going, and is so simple because it has only a few printing options. I like how cheap it is (although I paid the pricier seller for faster shipping when I needed a quick, cheap printer for school)! This can be had for under $30, which is great.
